Leave a Legacy

If you would like to leave a gift in your Will to Canine Concern, we thank you.

We recommend you consult a solicitor who can advise on wording to ensure that your wishes are carried out exactly as you want them to be.

A good place to start is: Remember A Charity’s guide on making a Will

https://www.rememberacharity.org.uk/find-a-charity/canine-concern-cio/

Your Will is personal and deciding what you’d like to leave is the first step. Your help and generosity will ensure that our charity, which you care so much about, is able to continue with our important care dog work.

There are three main types of gift you can make:

Residuary

This is the gift of all (or part) of the value of your estate after debts, liabilities and other legacies have been paid and is the most valuable kind of legacy that can be left to Canine Concern.

Pecuniary

A gift of a fixed sum of money in your Will is called a pecuniary bequest. The value of pecuniary legacies will decrease over time, as the cost of living increases.

Specific

A particular named item of value left as a gift in your Will is known as a specific bequest, for example, an item of artwork, or property.

If you’re not sure about what kind of gift you would like to give, talk to your solicitor who will be able to advise you further.
