Lockdown Easter with Canine Concern

Easter greetings to our friends we visit doesn’t stop just because we are in lockdown. Many of our members sent messages and cards to the people who would normally get a visit and a cuddle from our dogs. We are very lucky in that our members are so dedicated to this work. There is no financial gain, as we are all volunteers, but the satisfaction as well as fun we get from seeing so many people benefit from our dogs in enough to keep us going. It has been hard over these few weeks, we all miss our visits, even the dogs.
Here are a few of our member’s efforts:

Charlie, the Beagle, sent an Easter Card to his home he visits. He made the paw print with a little help from Davina. The residents loved it.

Sarah also emailed her care homes and hospitals with a lovely newsletter from Rosie, the lovely black labrador, to keep them entertained. She is sending several others until we can eventually get back to visiting.

We also had a lovely Easter message from Pebbles to her school. She sends regular messages to keep the children amused, until she returns to help them read and relax. There will be lots of help she will have to give the children after this confusing time for them. She is keeping in touch in many other ways too, you will read about this later.

Isla and her side kick Morgan also enjoyed Easter posing

Lets hope next Easter will be a little more normal. But our members are certainly showing good spirit, initiative and most of all dedication.
